​John has over 30 years’ experience in the planning and implementation of complex construction projects in the water, rail, highways and power sectors. He joined ESD in 2021 with responsibility for taking forward the SR21 capital programme of projects. He is a former Head of Operations (Scotland North) with Balfour Beatty Ltd, a Senior Project Manager with Iberdrola Engineering and a Project Manager with Network Rail. He is a Head of Delivery with parent company, Galliford Try.
