Irene’s career spans 28 years in the construction industry, mainly in the utilities sector, having held management posts in several disciplines including estimating, procurement, quantity surveying and land acquisition. In recent years, Irene has worked in the water sector as well as the energy arena with Scottish Power and SSE. She joined ESD in April 2025.
